Basic Price Formula:
All
Audit Prices are based on a home of 2000 Square Feet or less of living space. [Basements and attics are not usually included
in this calculation unless they are "finished" and heated.] For larger homes, add $10.00 for each additional 100
Sq. Ft. Homes with unusual complexity may also incur additional
time charges. A distance radius of 20 miles from Boothbay is assumed.
Greater distances will incur a $0.50 / mile fee for the additional miles.
Infrared Scanning Services are billed hourly. My Full Audit fees include follow-up testing; but you can opt to forgo that survice and have the follow-up
fee deducted from your bill. [A note about Comparison shopping for Audit
prices: Please note whether an auditor is charging in advance for follow-up testing. Some do, some don't.]
Walk-Through. $125.00 and up: A walk-through survey, looking to heat-loss and
building-health issues, with a prioritized hand-written listing of the most cost-effective improvements you can make.
No Blower-Door or Infrared Camera testing will be performed, and no formal report will be written. Homes greater than 2000
Sq. Ft. or requiring more than one hour will be billed according to the basic formula listed above.

Full Home Audit. $500.00 and up:
A full and detailed Audit, with Blower-door and Infrared Camera testing. Heating, AC, resident health and safety, building
durability, combustion zone venting, and electric usage will be evaluated and reported in full. You will receive a written
evaluation report detailing your home’s energy use, moisture control, safety issues found, and prioritized recommendations
that include cost estimates and cost-benefit guidelines from several perspectives, such as simple cost-benefit payback time
in years, and SIR (Savings to Investment Ratio). This audit format meets the requirements of Maine State Housing Authority
programs, bank financing guidelines, and some other assistance programs. In most cases, the costs of this audit can be paid
for as part of the loan or assistance program funding. This price includes a "followup test" wherein I return and ensure that
the work (and workmanship) you've had performed by a contractor actually accomplishes the goals set, and that the work
has not created any dangerous combustion zone issues. This followup test includes a blower-door test, a combustion zone test,
and IR checks where appropriate. Should you not want a follow up test, you can forgo it, and $50 will be taken off the Energy Audit invoice. Note: There are circumstances where you will
want me to work with or supervise the contractor who is working on your home. I will arrange an hourly fee for this service
that suits your needs.

Infrared Scanning Services. Whatever you require, starting at $70.00 per hour. [Actual rate will
be negotiated]. Scanning can find hidden moisture problems as well as heat / cold leaks anywhere
in the structure that the camera can picture. Note: Please be aware that there are circumstances
where IR Scanning will not be effective unless a Blower-Door is used, and / or there is at least 10-20 degrees of temperature
difference between inside and outside the structure.
